Read on to learn more about the competition rules.

Like any good competition, we’ve got rules! To enter Ruckus Nation and win, you’ll need to read and agree to the complete competition rules – even the fine print.

If you’re under the age of 18, your parent or legal guardian MUST read and agree to these rules too.

Here are a few important highlights from the rules — but don’t forget to read them all; they're really important!

  • To win, your team must have the ability to fully transfer the rights to its idea to HopeLab. (See Rule 2.9.)
  • In order to participate in the competition, your Team Leader must register via this website no later than November 20, 2007 at 5:00 p.m. U.S. Pacific Time. Registration may close sooner than this date if more than 1,000 teams register to participate. (See Rule 3.4)
  • Your entry must be submitted before Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at 5:00 p.m. U.S. Pacific Time. (See Rule 4.1.)
  • Your entry cannot violate any laws, regulations or rights of others. (See Rules 4.7 and 8.3.)
  • To be named a Category Winner and receive the $25,000 prize, you and all members of your team (and the parents or legal guardians of those who are minors) must complete an Affidavit of Eligibility, Release of Liability, a Travel Release, a Publicity Release, and a Ruckus Nation Assignment Agreement, which will transfer all intellectual property rights related to your entry and idea to HopeLab. (See Rules 6.6 and 6.7.)
  • By submitting an entry, you grant HopeLab an option to acquire a non-exclusive license to any ideas and inventions described in that entry, for which HopeLab will pay $250. This option expires one year from the date on which Ruckus Nation winners are announced. (See Rule 7.2)
  • By entering the competition, you agree to release HopeLab from any liability that may arise or be connected to (1) your idea, (2) entering and participating in the competition, (3) the outcome of the competition, and (4) accepting or using any prize. (See Rule 9.10)
  • By registering for the competition, you agree (or, if you are under the age of 18, your parent or guardian agrees) to the complete competition rules. (Rule 1.6)
